Svelte protein shake recipes!

I’m so excited to be the winner of one of Svelte‘s #FitnessFriday contests. The company was so generous and they recently sent me five cases of my favorite flavors! (Tom is also excited haha)

They let me choose my flavors, so I picked a few old favorites (vanilla and cappuccino), one for Tom (chocolate) and an exciting new flavor (banana creme)! I’m so pumped to have these because they’re gluten free, dairy free, organic and, let’s not forget, tasty ways to get protein when I might not otherwise get it. PLUS they have a reclosable cap (which means a lot more than you think!). I’m always on the go with work at the Aquarium, work at the gym, workouts, meetups with my BMOREtoned crew and just…life. These easy shakes are there for me when I don’t have time to throw something together.

I love these, but there is SO much! haha I’m not sure I can actually drink them all (I absolutely can). Don’t get me wrong…like I said, Svelte shakes taste great and are good for a quick meal on-the-go BUT they also work perfect for smoothies as a tasty nutritious boost!

One of my favorite smoothies uses the vanilla Svelte (my Pina Colada Smoothie) but I wanted to expand my horizons…I found an awesome new tropical smoothie from the Svelte Pinterest Page to warm up my insides while it’s freezing out – check out the easy recipe below!

Ingredients:

  • 1 banana Svelte protein shake
  • 2 C fresh spinach
  • 1 C fresh kiwi
  • 1 banana
  • 1/2 C pineapple

Directions:

  1. Mix all ingredients together.
  2. Imagine you’re in a tropical place…
  3. And enjoy!

So tasty! I have a lot of smoothies to make… I’m also looking for/trying to create some new recipes with the use of these shakes. They are creamy and flavored and I think they could be really great for some sauces, dips, baked goods, etc. Let the experimenting begin…haha (insert mad scientist laugh)

Cappuccino Chia Pudding Snack

Ingredients
  • 1 C cappuccino Svelte protein shake
  • ¼ C chia seeds
Instructions
  1. Whisk chia seeds into Svelte and set aside for 3 minutes.
  2. Whisk mixture again.
  3. Refrigerate for 3 hours to overnight.
  4. Enjoy!

My next move is to try using Svelte to make some flavored ice cream…we’ll see how that goes! :)

[Recipe] Perfect Green Smoothie

As you know, I start every Friday pretty early by working out with my trainer & workout buddies in TeamRick (woo woo). Today (as with every Friday) Rick was tough on us – getting us to work with new moves that work our big muscle groups and some that we don’t often use! One of the moves we finished with was a multi-layered pushup. We went from floor to bosu, bosu to bench and back down – all varying where we had our hands and, therefore, what different muscles we worked! Awesome!

Anyway, following the workout, I needed to make sure my muscles recover and my body gets the fuel it needs for the full day ahead. SOOOOO I created this fun smoothie & I had to share it!

Cooking needs: Blender, mixer or food processor (I use my immersion blender & it works great!)

  • 1 packet (or scoop) Perfect Fit Protein
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1 C spinach
  • 1/3 C non-fat almond milk
  • 1/3 C greek yogurt (It works perfectly with a 3.5oz Chobani Bite!)

Stir until all ingredients are well blended and enjoy!

Yummy Protein Smoothies!

Unfortunately, I don’t have a close store that sells the amazingly delicious protein drink Svelte by CalNaturale near me. So you can only imagine how excited I was when fellow BMOREtoned girl, Jami, brought a case to our weekly workout to share with the group!  


It seems like we were all a little excited…

So, as you can imagine, I ran home and immediately made a smoothie with one. :) 

In the past, I’ve used the french vanilla and cappuccino flavors to make basic smoothies. Cappuccino & ice. Vanilla, banana & ice. Simple. But with this batch, I decided to try a more tropical take – Pina Colada Shake! 

Now…I have to give pretty much all the credit to my Tone It Up girls for the original Pina Colada smoothie idea – it’s from the latest edition of my TIU diet plan. I’ve made it before with my Perfect Fit protein so I knew it tasted delicious :) 

Since then, I’ve tried it a few different ways and I’m really digging the tropical taste – perfect for spring/summer transition. So, of course, I thought I’d share! Enjoy! 

Pina Colada Protein Smoothie 

  • 1/2 French Vanilla Svelte protein drink Ingredients:
  • 1/4 C pineapple juice 
  • 1 banana 
  • 1 C pineapple 
  • 1/2 C ice 

Now I’ve made different variations of this and they’ve ALL been good. I’ve also added…

  • 2 kiwi 
  • 1/2 C strawberries
