It’s amazing how fast time flies by…I’ve been in Baltimore for approximately five years, but it feels like it’s been 10 or 20. Honestly, it’s so bizarre to me to pass placed in town and say “Oh yea, I used to live there a few years ago.” A few years ago?? Sheesh. It feels like I only got here yesterday! But I digress…
Anyway, in my many years here, I’ve seen the city grow in many ways: New restaurants, new buildings, new parks, etc. Honestly, I think it’s a very exciting time to be in Baltimore. Our size is growing to match our attitude. I can’t wait to see some of our amazing restaurants and attractions in mainstream magazines and polls (to be fair, we’re in SOME of these already, but we almost always get passed up for the top cities like NY, Boston, Miami, etc.). So do you hear me, Food & Wine? Travel & Leisure? We’re expecting a call sometime soon.
All that being said, it’s things like the Four Seasons coming to town that are moving us in the right direction. Say what you will, but I’m thoroughly happy to see them here. Not to mention their arrival spawning the arrival of stores like J. Crew, Anthropologie & Lululemon in a neighborhood quite close to me.
I love shopping…It may or may not have a problem :)
I’ve yet to actually stay at the Four Seasons hotel (hint hint – book us a staycation Tom!), but we’ve had a few opportunities to drink, dine, hang out and yoga there and it’s been lovely!
One of my favorite parts about it is the amazing restaurant, Wit & Wisdom. The food is amazing and the drinks are just as exciting. Add in the great view and you’re all set.
Four Seasons and Wit & Wisdom, lucky for all of us, are celebrating their anniversary all week long – starting with a special night last night with half price wines (that got me & Molly immediately) and a % off your check! Excellent.
We got together to join for a fun dinner to celebrate! Woo hoo! We had an amazing time – the food, the drinks, the company. It was lovely. One of our favorite drinks there is a called a sticky wicket…
- Jim Beam
- Ferner branca
- Smoked maple syrup
Stir ingredients and serve short over ice with an orange peel.
*Now here’s the issue, I don’t have the measurements for this recipe figured out just yet. But I will! And then I’ll post again! I’ve talked with bartender friends and they’ve said it’s the Ferner branca that will make it. I Googled it and apparently it is made of 40 herbs and spices, including myrrh, rhubarb, chamomile, cardamom and saffron, with a base of grape alcohol.
Thanks again to all the amazing staff at Wit & Wisdom! Congrats on your anniversary!
